My Work
This is what I'm capable of
Throughout my time at Harding, I have had the opportunity to create and do work that I am proud of. Below is an overview of some the work I have produced over the past four years.
What was it?
My final capstone project consisted of joining a team composed of two Integrated Marketing Communication majors, three Interior Design majors, and two Graphic Design majors. The seven of us were then tasked with re-branding our own university's hometown, Searcy, AR. This consisted of creating a brand new logo, redesigning current building spaces, creating new building spaces, and much more.
What did I do?
As an Integrated Marketing Communication team member, I was responsible for:
-
the research that drove our re-branding decisions
-
identifying target segments
-
creating a promotional strategy
-
formulating and using personas
-
maintaining consistent messaging across the multiple spaces Interior Design created
-
constructed a gallery space that showcased our designs and marketing concepts
-
presented to important stakeholders like the Mayor of Searcy, the City Head of Parks and Rec, the City Head of Architecture, and other guests
I was also selected to act as our team's Project Coordinator, and this meant I was responsible for:
-
scheduling and leading meetings
-
creating agendas before each meeting
-
setting hard and soft deadlines
-
communicating with faculty residing over the project
-
communicating with fellow teammates on expectations and what their deliverables needed to include
-
managing personalities and conflicting schedules

Harding University Social Club President
What was it?
Harding University, instead of sororities, has over 20 different "social clubs" that make up a majority of the students who attend. My freshman year, I joined the women's social club Delta Nu, where I served in multiple offices and ended up being President my senior year.
What did I do?
As President of a social club, I was responsible for:
-
communicating with fellow officers on what they needed and could do in order to fulfill their roles
-
spearheading bi-weekly club meetings that consisted of 50+ people
-
acting as the liaison between the club and Harding University
-
working with fellow members to plan events that ranged from service projects, formals, tailgates, and functions
-
motivating fellow officers and members to attend events and contribute to the overall good of the club
-
maintaining the tradition and essence of Delta Nu and abiding by its constitution, as well as making amendments and updating it

Communication Research: A Study of the Parasocial Bond Between Taylor Swift and Fans
What was it?
Senior year, I took a class entitled "Communication Research Methods" where I chose a theory of communication and went about an authentic and real research process
What did I do?
-
I wrote a 20 page research paper that included 12 sources and multiple sections explaining my topic and research process
-
created a survey that was sent out to the student body and received a total of 100 responses
-
dissected results of survey and formed conclusions based off the results
-
created a poster graphic to explain and present research to students and faculty, as seen below

Camp Wyldewood Marketing Internship
What was it?
For my Integrated Marketing Communication degree I was required to take on an internship of 120 hours. Camp Wyldewood, a kid's Christian summer camp in Searcy, AR let me intern for them the fall of my junior year.
What did I do?
-
ran their Facebook and Instagram accounts with daily interactive posts
-
communicated with future campers and their guardians via email
-
created graphics for social media
-
aided in the advertisement of their annual golf tournament fundraiser
-
worked within their office and managed my own time and tasks
What was it?
My junior year of college, in pursuit of my minor in Project Management, I took a class entitled "Advanced Global Project Management", where I worked as part of a team of five on a hypothetical project that would take place on a global scale.
What did I do?
-
adhered to the Scrum and Agile method of Project Management
-
took part in and ran weekly Sprints and Retrospectives
-
researched the project and its data
-
considered and solved problems that could occur to project both in the U.S. and globally
-
wrote and compiled a paper of the project throughout all its lifecycles and presented on it to faculty within the business department
What is it?
One of, if not THE, most difficult class one has to take within my major is Communication Theory. This class is a semester long study over the various communication theories that are currently in existence. An important takeaway I got from this class was my deep dive into one particular theory and the subsequent research and writing I did on it.
What I did?
-
read up on multiple theories of communication and chose the one that most interested me
-
wrote a paper and annotated bibliography on the theory that applied it to situations and scenarios I had seen play out in my own life
-
formally presented on it and taught the theory to my class
